For us, Woodlands has never been just a restaurant. It's a legacy. It's a cornerstone of Hong Kong's culinary history, born in 1981 from a simple, powerful idea: to share the vibrant, soulful flavours of authentic Indian vegetarian food with this amazing city.

40+ Years of Excellence - A Legacy Revived

The next chapter of our journey began with Arun P.E (known as Alex P.E). Long before becoming our Founder & CEO, he was a devoted guest, dining at our Tsim Sha Tsui branch almost every day. As a lifelong vegetarian, Woodlands became his home away from home.

In 2018, when he discovered that the beloved restaurant was facing closure, he made an overnight decision to save it. His first act was to bring back our original master chefs, restoring the authentic flavors that had defined Woodlands for generations.

Today, he continues to safeguard the Woodlands experience, by personally tasting dishes to ensure quality and responding to every guest review himself—because for us, true excellence isn’t just in the food, it’s in the connection we share with our community.

A Legacy of Celebrity Visits

Over four decades, our reputation for genuine flavour and hospitality has drawn a remarkable list of guests. Cinema legends like Amitabh Bachchan, the unforgettable Amrish Puri, and the legendary Rajinikanth have all dined with us. Cricket royalty like Sunil Gavaskar and Anil Kumble have shared meals here.

Our most distinguished honour was hosting the former Prime Minister of India, the late P.V. Narasimha Rao. But for us, the real legacy is that every single guest receives that same star-worthy quality and heartfelt welcome.
